Did you know that summer is the Stanza Cannon EIC’s favorite time of year? The sweltering days, the tepid nights, and all the humidity! Trees’ canopies rustling with wind and downpour. The clap and rumble of thunder, and electricity literally in the air. Fitting, because the second summer issue of Stanza Cannon is, as the kids say, fire. Enjoy!

Bio: Samuel L. Rubinstein is a writer and comedian from New Jersey. Often blending humor and poetry, Sam writes on themes of growth, maturity, and mental health. In 2019, Sam released his first children’s book, “To the Spider in My House.” Additionally, Sam has toured with his multiple one-man comedy shows. In 2022, Sam published his first full-length collection of poetry, “A Candle Regaining Strength.” Most recently, Sam released a chapbook through Two Key Customs titled “Self Diagnosis.”

His writing has been or will be published in Five South, Resurrection Magazine, Stanza Cannon, Marías at Sampaguitas, the Bitchin’ Kitsch, and Bulb Culture Collective. His work will be featured in the upcoming  eco-poetry anthology, “Dear Human at the Edge of Time.”
